Camilo Pérez-Bustillo was appointed to the W. Haywood Burns Memorial Chair in civil rights law at the City University 
of New York Law School during the 2002–03 academic year and earned his doctor of jurisprudence in May 1981 from 
Northeastern University Law School. He currently serves as the director of immigrant and refugee rights at the American 
Friends Service Committee.
